Reading lists, facilitation, and food and drink, built around discussing the material and developing your own policy question.
What it is
A practical course in UK AI policy.
The UK AI Policy Course is for people who already have some AI safety context and want to understand how UK AI policy works in practice, while starting to plan a career in UK AI policy through something concrete.
Over three weekly two-hour sessions at the Meridian office in Cambridge, you will read and discuss live policy questions with a small cohort. The course also includes a one-day London intensive; see below for details.
The course is designed for people based in or near Cambridge, London, or elsewhere in the UK who can travel to both in-person components.
You will leave with a short policy post ready to publish, giving you a concrete piece for your portfolio.
Syllabus
What we will cover.
The full reading list is finalised closer to the start so it stays current and close to live policy debates. The course is structured around three sessions.
- 01UK AI policy landscape and regulation
- 02Risk, loss of control, incident reporting, and the EU angle
- 03Writing for policy: turning a question into a publishable post
Logistics
When it runs.

The London intensive is planned for a Saturday in August, after the venue is confirmed. We will ask for your availability during the application process so we can find times that suit the cohort.
